NRA-Shotgun and Rifle Instructor Course

WHO MAY ATTEND:   Any Venturer, Scouts BSA, or Adult Registered BSA Leader. This course certifies you as an NRA instructor. The course allows you to take a troop to Camp Bud Schiele and open the ranges along with a RSO Instructor.

NRA PRE-QUALIFICATIONS: A Pre-Qualification Test must be taken during the first ½ of class to determine your skill set level and a score of 80% must be achieved to be admitted to class. This score is not hard to achieve if you have had any previous shooting experience. NOTE: (These classes are open to all Venturing Youth regardless of previous shooting experience. Your score will not be a determining factor in your acceptance into this course).

Arrival: Friday, April 19, at 5:00 p.m. and class begins at 6:00 p.m.

Cost: 

NRA Trainer must be taken to be an instructor, unless you have taken this class in the last two years. - $30

Rifle Instructor Course-$150

Shotgun Instructor Course-$150

Certification Requirements: Complete NRA Training Course

• NRA  Certified Instructor : 21 years of age, score 90% or higher on written examination
• NRA Assistant Instructor: 18 years of age, score 85% or higher on written examination
• NRA Apprentice Instructor: 13 to 17 years of age, score 85% or higher on examination
• Pay the appropriate processing fee
